The artist was inspired when he first saw Rodin’s “The crouching woman” in Paris. This variation of Rodin’s original, honors and represents the artist’s respect for one of the world’s greatest sculptors. When this sculpture was combined with another it was titled “Je Suis Belle” which the woman model exclaimed after seeing herself: “I am beautiful”. |
